A short policy, because the site collects almost nothing.

The short version

Beacon sets no cookies, runs no analytics, serves no advertising, embeds no third-party scripts, and has no forms. There is nothing to opt out of, which is why you will not find a consent banner here.

What actually happens when you visit

  • Your browser requests pages, stylesheets, fonts, and images from this site's own server. Nothing is loaded from any other domain.
  • The hosting provider records ordinary server logs — IP address, requested URL, user agent, timestamp — as every web server does. These are used for security and troubleshooting and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile.
  • Nothing is stored in your browser: no cookies, no local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting.

The search feature runs entirely in your browser. Your query is matched against a static index file that your browser has already downloaded. Queries are never transmitted to this site, to us, or to any search provider, and they are not logged anywhere.

When you follow a link to another site — an agency, a court, a law firm — that site's own privacy practices apply, and it may set cookies or track you. We have no control over and no visibility into that.

If you email us

We receive whatever you send and keep it only as long as needed to reply and to record a correction. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list — there is no mailing list. Please do not send sensitive personal information or case documents; email is not secure and Beacon is not your lawyer.

Children

Beacon is written for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this site ever adds analytics, advertising, or a form, this page will be rewritten to describe exactly what is collected before the change goes live — not afterwards.
